The Tackle World Virtual Striper Tournament will run from November 1st through December 31st. This is a virtual, catch-photo-release style tournament designed to promote fair competition and conservation.

Anglers qualify to enter when they make any of the following purchases:

any of Shimano 2026 Talavera rods or Speedmaster Surf rods, OR $200+ purchase from Shimano brands at Tackle World, including Shimano, G. Loomis, PowerPro, and Jackall.

Purchases can be made 9/9/26 (7pm EST) to 10/30/26 (3pm EST).

Tournament Overview

The Tackle World Virtual Striper Tournament will run from November 1st through December 31st, 2026. This is a remote, catch-photo-release style tournament designed to promote fair competition and conservation.

Divisions

Participants may compete in one (1) division only for the duration of the tournament: Boat or Shore.
Each division will have three winners and three unique awards.
Boat Category: Any fish caught while fishing from a boat, kayak, canoe, or other watercraft qualifies for the Boat Category. This includes fish caught from a kayak or canoe regardless of where the angler is fishing.
Shore Category: Fish must be caught while physically fishing from shore, beach, jetty, pier, or another land-based location without a boat, kayak, canoe and alike.
IMPORTANT: KAYAKS AND CANOES ARE CLASSIFIED UNDER THE BOAT CATEGORY. ANY FISH CAUGHT FROM A KAYAK OR CANOE MUST BE ENTERED IN THE BOAT CATEGORY.

Entry & Eligibility

Anglers qualify with any of the following purchases: 1. any Shimano 2026 Talavera rod (CLICK HERE), 2. any Shimano Speedmaster Surf rod (CLICK HERE), or 3. $200+ product total purchase of Shimano brands (Shimano, G. Loomis, PowerPro and Jackall) at Tackle World (CLICK HERE; must be in single purchase, before shipping fee AND TAX).
Purchases must be made from 9/9/26 (starting at 7pm EST) to 10/30/25 (3pm EST) to be eligible.
Only one eligible purchase per angler.
All participants must use an active email address at the time of purchase; all tournament related communications will be done via e-mail.
One ruler purchase per angler ONLY.
All participants must be officially registered prior to fishing.
By entering, participants agree to all tournament rules and conditions.
Angler ID list will be emailed on the night of 10/30/26.

Measurement & Equipment Requirements

All fish must be measured using the official Tackle World tournament ruler.
Participants must have the official Tackle World tournament ruler available while fishing.
Fish must be laid flat on the ruler.
The mouth should be closed as much as possible.
Fish's tail must be pinched by hand (CLICK TO SEE SAMPLE IMAGE).
Fish must be measured from the tip of the mouth to the greatest length of the pinched tail.
All measurements must comply with applicable state regulations.
Fish MUST BE INTACT. No mutilation allowed including cutting, gutting, gaffing, etc.

Photo Submission Requirements

All fish must be measured using the official Tackle World tournament ruler.
Each entry must be submitted with the email address used at the time of ruler purchase.
ALL ENTRIES MUST BE MADE WITHIN 3 DAYS OF THE CATCH.
Fish MUST BE INTACT. No mutilation allowed including cutting, gutting, gaffing, etc.

The entire fish must be laid flat on the ruler and clearly visible in the photo.
The unique angler code must be clearly written on the ruler and visible in the photo.
Tail must be pinched in the photo to indicate correct measurement.
Photos that are blurry, altered, or do not meet these criteria may be disqualified at the discretion of the tournament director.

Catch Rules

Only striped bass are eligible.
Fish must be legally caught in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Participants are encouraged to practice catch and release whenever possible.
Fish MUST BE INTACT. No mutilation allowed including cutting, gutting, gaffing, etc.
Any evidence of tampering, cheating, or falsifying entries will result in immediate disqualification.

Scoring

Winners will be determined by longest single striper (total length) submitted during the tournament period.
In the event of a tie, the earliest submitted qualifying entry will take precedence.

Submission Process

All entries must be submitted to the designated tournament contact on our website.
All entries must be submitted within 3 days of the catch.

Submissions must include:

Participant name
Angler ID
Fish length
Date of catch
Division (Boat or Shore)
Photo(s)

Leaderboard Updates

The leaderboard will be updated by the end of the day every Monday until the last week of the tournament, before the final leaderboard will be posted.
Leaderboard can be found at the top of this page and updates will be posted to our social media throughout the tournament.

Code of Conduct

Participants must act in a sportsmanlike manner at all times.
Participants must respect fellow anglers and environment.
Participants must abide by local regulations while fishing (i.e. in New Jersey, anglers must use circle hooks when using natural bait).
Practice proper handling and release techniques including having appropriate release equipment available prior to photographing, minimizing air time and keeping fish in the water as much as possible, and supporting large bass properly rather than holding it by the jaw or gills. When reviving a fish from a boat, keep it away from the propellers. In the surf, face the bass into the current and support it until it swims away strongly.
Participants are encouraged to practice catch and release whenever possible.

By participating in this tournament, all entrants agree to:

Assume all risks associated with fishing activities
Hold Tackle World, its affiliates, and tournament organizers harmless from any liability, injury, or damages incurred during participation
Agree and understand with the rules, terms and conditions of the tournament
