The Tackle World Virtual Striper Tournament will run from November 1st through December 31st. This is a remote, catch-photo-release style tournament designed to promote fair competition and conservation.

Anglers qualify with a $200 purchase from Shimano brands at Tackle World, including Shimano, G. Loomis and PowerPro, or by purchasing any new Talavera rod or Speedmaster Surf rod. Purchases can be made September 8 through October 31.

Tournament Overview

The Tackle World Virtual Striper Tournament will run from November 1st through December 31st, 2026. This is a remote, catch-photo-release style tournament designed to promote fair competition and conservation.

Divisions

Participants may compete in one (1) division only for the duration of the tournament: Boat OR Shore
Each division will have three winners and 3 unique awards.

Boat Category: Any fish caught while fishing from a boat, kayak, canoe, or other watercraft qualifies for the Boat Category.

Shore Category: Fish must be caught while fishing from shore, beach, jetty, pier, or other land-based location.

Entry & Eligibility

Anglers qualify with a $200 purchase from Shimano brands at Tackle World, including Shimano, G. Loomis, and PowerPro, or by purchasing any new Talavera rod. Purchases can be made September 8 through October 31.
All participants must use an active email address at the time of purchase; all tournament related communications will be done via e-mail.
One ruler purchase per angler ONLY.
All participants must be officially registered prior to fishing.
By entering, participants agree to all tournament rules and conditions.

Measurement & Equipment Requirements

All fish must be measured using the official Tackle World tournament ruler.
Fish must be laid flat on the ruler.
Fish must be measured nose to tail (total length) with the mouth as closed as possible and tail naturally extended.
Measurement must start at the tip of the mouth and end at the longest center of the tail.Prepare: Keep release gear ready before fishing.
Land: Keep tension and land the bass carefully. Use a net from a boat; in the surf, keep the fish in shallow water. Never gaff or drag large fish.
Minimize Air Time: Keep bass out of the water as briefly as possible.
Remove Hooks: Unhook in the water whenever possible. Cut the leader on deeply hooked fish.
Measure: Follow state regulations. In NJ, pinch the tail forks and measure to the tip.
Photo: Take it quickly. Support large bass properly—never by the jaw or gills.
Revive and Release: In a boat, revive away from the propellers. In the surf, face the bass into the current and support it until it swims away strongly.

Photo Submission Requirements

All fish must be measured using the official Tackle World tournament ruler.
Each entry must be submitted with the email address used at the time of ruler purchase.

The entire fish must be laid flat on the ruler and clearly visible in the photo.
The unique angler code clearly written on the ruler and visible in the photo.
Photos that are blurry, altered, or do not meet these criteria may be disqualified at the discretion of the tournament director.

Catch Rules

Only striped bass are eligible.
Fish must be legally caught in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Participants are encouraged to practice catch and release whenever possible.
Any evidence of tampering, cheating, or falsifying entries will result in immediate disqualification.

Scoring

Winners will be determined by longest single striper (total length) submitted during the tournament period.
In the event of a tie, the earliest submitted qualifying entry will take precedence.

Submission Process

All entries must be submitted to the designated tournament contact on our website.

Submissions must include:

Participant name
Angler ID
Fish length
Date of catch
Division (Boat or Shore)
Photo(s)

Leaderboard Updates

The leaderboard will be updated by the end of the day every Monday until the last week of the tournament, before the final leaderboard will be posted. Leaderboard can be found at the top of this page and updates will be posted to our social media throughout the tournament.

Code of Conduct

Participants must act in a sportsmanlike manner at all times.
Respect for fellow anglers, the environment, and applicable laws is required.

By participating in this tournament, all entrants agree to:
Assume all risks associated with fishing activities
Hold Tackle World, its affiliates, and tournament organizers harmless from any liability, injury, or damages incurred during participation
