Tournament Overview
The Tackle World Virtual Fluke Tournament, also known as Fluke University, will run from June 15th through September 15th, 2026. This is a remote, catch-photo-release style tournament designed to promote fair competition and conservation.

Divisions
  • Participants may compete in one (1) division only for the duration of the tournament: Boat OR Shore
  • Each division will have three winners and 3 unique awards.

Entry & Eligibility
  • How to enter: purchase a Tackle World Fluke Tournament Ruler ( CLICK HERE)
  • Deadline to purchase a ruler: 4pm EST on June 14th, 2026
  • Each participant will receive their unique angler number via email by 10pm EST on June 14th, 2026. 
  • All participants must use an active email address at the time of purchase; all tournament related communications will be done via e-mail.
  • One ruler purchase per angler ONLY. 
  • All participants must be officially registered prior to fishing.
  • By entering, participants agree to all tournament rules and conditions.

Measurement & Equipment Requirements
  • All fish must be measured using the official Tackle World tournament ruler.
  • Fish must be laid flat on the ruler.
  • Fish must be measured nose to tail (total length) with the mouth as closed as possible and tail naturally extended.
  • Measurement must start at the tip of the mouth and end at the longest center of the tail.

Photo Submission Requirements
  • All fish must be measured using the official Tackle World tournament ruler.
  • Each entry must be submitted with the email address used at the time of ruler purchase.
  • The entire fish must be laid flat on the ruler and clearly visible in the photo.
  • The unique angler code clearly written on the ruler and visible in the photo.
  • Photos that are blurry, altered, or do not meet these criteria may be disqualified at the discretion of the tournament director.

Catch Rules
  • Only fluke (summer flounder) are eligible.
  • Fish must be legally caught in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participants are encouraged to practice catch and release whenever possible.
  • Any evidence of tampering, cheating, or falsifying entries will result in immediate disqualification.

Scoring
  • Winners will be determined by longest single fluke (total length) submitted during the tournament period.
  • In the event of a tie, the earliest submitted qualifying entry will take precedence.

Submission Process
  • All entries must be submitted to the designated tournament contact on our website (CLICK HERE).

    Submissions must include:
  • Participant name
  • Angler ID
  • Fish length
  • Date of catch
  • Division (Boat or Shore)
  • Photo(s)

Leaderboard Updates
The leaderboard will be updated by the end of the day every Monday until the last week of the tournament, before the final leaderboard will be posted. Leaderboard can be found at the top of this page and updates will be posted to our social media throughout the tournament.

Code of Conduct
  • Participants must act in a sportsmanlike manner at all times.
  • Respect for fellow anglers, the environment, and applicable laws is required.

Liability Waiver
  • By participating in this tournament, all entrants agree to:
  • Assume all risks associated with fishing activities
  • Hold Tackle World, its affiliates, and tournament organizers harmless from any liability, injury, or damages incurred during participation

Tournament Director Authority
The tournament director reserves the right to:
  • Disqualify any entry that does not meet the rules
  • Interpret rules and resolve disputes at their sole discretion
  • Modify rules if necessary to ensure fair competition

Acceptance of Rules
Participation in the tournament constitutes full acceptance of all rules and conditions outlined above.
